Planning Your Trip to Vienna

Vienna either from the United States or from anywhere in Europe. Americans need a valid passport, but there are no visa requirements. There are direct flights to Vienna as well as flights with minimal connections. It is also very convenient to take public transportation from the airport directly into Vienna for a modest fare. Of course, Vienna is very easy to reach by train as well from anywhere in Europe. It is best to make your arrangements far enough in advance so that you will have a full choice of available travel options.

Vienna is a beautiful and safe city. It gets quite warm there in July but it can also be cool, especially in the evenings and at night. You should pack a range of comfortable and nicer clothes. Viennese tend to look quite nice when they go out to eat or to evening entertainments. If you plan on traveling to countries near Vienna (Hungary, Slovakia, Slovenia, Czech Republic), you should make your own inquiries about additional documentary requirements, such as visas.
