JD/MDiv Program
The JD/MDiv program promotes an interdisciplinary conversation between religion and law, provides a different vocational perspective not found in the single law or divinity concentration, and enriches the professional knowledge and experience of students who want to pursue careers in law or divinity.
Students interested in the joint JD/MDiv program can combine the three-year law curriculum and the three-year divinity curriculum into a five-year program. Students will first complete two years of work in either the School of Law or the School of Divinity. Years 3 and 4 will be completed in the alternate school. For the 5th year, students will enroll in each school for one semester, completing any remaining degree requirements and elective courses that are joint-degree appropriate.
Law School Requirements
When undertaken as part of the joint JD/MDiv program, the JD degree requires completion of 75 hours of law course work and the other degree requirements prescribed by the law school for graduation.
Academic Advising
Each student will be provided a faculty advisor from each school for the duration of the degree program to help guide them through the program and its curriculum. To make the most of the degree program, students will meet with both advisors at least once during each semester enrolled in the joint degree program.
