Preferred Lenders
Choosing a lender is an important decision, one that will affect you for the life of your loan. If you have no prior Stafford Loans, we recommend you borrow from of the lenders listed. These lenders are committed to provide quality service to their borrowers and they offer repayment incentives (borrower benefits) to help you manage your student loan debt. We recommend that you "interview" the lenders. Questions you might ask a lender about their program include:
- Do you sell your loans?
- Explain how your borrower benefits work?
- How could I lose the borrower benefits?
Evaluate the lender representatives' responses to your questions. Consider how your call was handled. Remember, your relationship with the lender could last up to 30 years. If you already have a Federal Stafford Loan, we recommend you remain with the same lender. If you need more information or clarification on a program, contact the lender by calling the telephone number listed.
Because of the recent spate of articles about the unscrupulous activities of some financial aid providers using preferred lenders lists, we thought it important to let you know the lenders listed below are the largest providers of law student loans. You may choose from our list or you may have another lender that you prefer. If that is the case, let us know as certain steps must be taken in order to comply with federal rules and electronic funds transfer to your individual student account. Please do not choose a lender based on name recognization only.
