Wake Law Scholarships

Each year, the School of Law awards a number of scholarships to JD students, ranging in value from full tuition with a stipend and textbooks, to awards of $1,000. (Note that financial arrangements are different for students in the LLM program)

JD applicants need not apply for School of Law scholarships, although you may be asked to interview with the scholarship committee for certain scholarships. Awards are based on academic record, LSAT score, character, motivation, potential for contribution to the legal profession, and other criteria required by donors. Scholarships are normally awarded in early spring through mid-summer. You'll be notified if selected.

Most scholarships require standing within the top two-thirds to retain the scholarship. If you are below two-thirds, but in good academic standing you retain one-half the scholarship.

JD/MBA students are eligible for scholarships; however, you may not use a law school scholarship during your 'core year' at the Graduate School of Management.

Occasionally, outside scholarships are also available, and they will require applications.
