Practice Areas and Core Competencies

Through CL&BC Wake Forest students and faculty offer their expertise, resources, and skills to the community by facilitating entrepreneurship, either through for-profit or nonprofit ventures.

  • Nonprofit Development and Capacity Building – CL&BC will work to increase the capacity of nonprofit organizations as they work to fulfill their missions by providing legal and business consulting services, including:

    • Organizational assessment
    • Strategic planning
    • Board training and capacity building
    • Legal Assistance
    • Marketing strategies and analysis

In addition, CL&BC will direct attention to work in two targeted areas: Nonprofit Housing Development and Community Based Philanthropy.

  • Small Business Development – CL&BC has developed a strategy for serving the needs of emerging businesses by providing both training on business law issues and individualized assistance with business development. CL&BC will work in two focused practice areas: Arts Entrepreneurship and Agriculture Related Entrepreneurship. In each of these areas CL&BC will make a series of trainings available to business owners and community leaders.
