Our Services
Apply to be a client
Print out this Questionnaire, fill it out and fax it or mail it. Or, you can call and ask us to send you the Eligibility Questionnaire. After we receive it, we will determine if you qualify. (To qualify, you must have a monthly household income of $1,700 or less, if you are single, and $2,200 or less, if you are married.) If you do qualify, we will send a letter to you telling you that your name has been added to our waiting list.
The Elder Law Clinic cannot accept all cases. The intake procedures and criteria for case selection change from time to time. We see the majority of those on our waiting list between September 1 and May 1. When the law students are out of school for the summer, we don't see new clients. However, that's a great time to apply.
Note: We do not answer legal questions via e-mail or phone. If you need legal help, you must start with the Eligibility Questionnaire. If you still have questions after reading our FAQs, please call us.
Request a Speaker
Each year The Elder Law Clinic students speak to various community groups. The dates they are available to speak to your group are in the fall from September 1 through December 1, and in the spring from February 1 through April 15.
Topics include:
- Living Wills
- Powers of Attorney (health and financial)
- Guardianship
- Medicaid Coverage for Nursing Home Care
- Abuse and Neglect
- Consumer Issues
If you would like a student from The Elder Law Clinic to speak to your group, fill out the Request for Speaker form, and return it to the Clinic office.
Note: There is a $50 charge if your group does not exclusively serve the low-income elderly.
