Professor Christine Nero Coughlin is a recipient of the 2011 Wake Forest University Teaching and Learning Center's Teaching Innovation Award, the 2008 Joseph Branch Award for Excellence in Teaching, and a two-time recipient of the Graham Award for Excellence in Teaching Legal Research and Writing. She is the Director of the Legal Analysis, Writing and Research Program at the Law School, and also has appointments in the Wake Forest University Graduate School of Arts and Sciences and the Wake Forest University School of Medicine's Translational Science Institute. Her teaching and scholarship are concentrated in the areas of legal analysis and writing, bioethics, and health care law. She is a co-author of the textbook, A Lawyer Writes, and her most recent series of articles advocate examining other models of professional education, such as the educational pedagogy used in medical school and engineering, to enhance the legal education model. When she is not teaching or writing, she spends her time with her husband, Rick, and their four children, Jacob, Jonathan, Addison and Bella.
