Professor Kidwell serves as Senior Counsel for the State of Tennessee, where she represents state employees in civil rights actions and defends the constitutionality of state statutes. She also represents the Department of Commerce and Insurance and the Department of Financial Institutions in regulatory matters and receiverships, and the Tennessee Education Lottery Corporation in breach of contract actions. Her responsibilities also include analyzing state legislation, drafting Attorney General Opinions, and rendering legal advice to the Treasurer and the Comptroller. Professor Kidwell earned her Juris Doctor degree from Wake Forest in 1990.
