Ramona Lampley is the first Visiting Assistant Professor (“VAP”) at Wake Forest University School of Law. The VAP program is designed to provide aspiring scholars an introduction to a career in legal instruction and an opportunity to pursue scholarship interests. Ms. Lampley’s scholarship and teaching interests lie in various areas including, complex civil litigation, privatized litigation, arbitration, and the contractual waiver of procedural or evidentiary rights, evidentiary rules and their effect on the preservation of constitutional rights, and criminal procedure. In that vein, Ms. Lampley is teaching Evidence and Capital Punishment during her visit at Wake Forest. She is currently researching the use of consumer-friendly arbitration agreements to introduce enforceable class-waiver arbitration agreements in the sales of consumer products.

Prior to her appointment as the VAP for 2007-2008, Ms. Lampley was an associate at Wheeler Trigg Kennedy LLP, a Colorado-based firm that handles trials, appeals, class actions, and related areas of complex civil litigation on a regional and national scale for many of the country’s best-known companies. While at WTK, Ms. Lampley specialized in products liability, employment litigation, alternative dispute resolution, and general commercial litigation. Before that, Ms. Lampley clerked for the Honorable Harris L Hartz of the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit. She graduated magna cum laude from Wake Forest University School of Law in 2004, and was the recipient of the National Association of Women Lawyers Outstanding Graduate Award.
