Professor Punger, a 1972 graduate of Wake Forest University School of Law, worked as general counsel and school attorney for the Winston-Salem / Forsyth County Board of Education.  He has served as chair of the Education Law Section for the North Carolina Bar Association, and is a member of the Executive Committee for the North Carolina Council of School Attorneys.  He has presented on various topics in education law to national professional organizations, such as the National School Boards Association.
