Simone Rose is an award winning teacher and active scholar writing about intellectual property. She is the recipient of the 2005 Joseph Branch Award for Excellence in Law Teaching. Her scholarship includes such cutting edge topics as the intersection of patent law with biotechnology and stem cell research and the ethical issues that these topics present for lawyers and for society. Simone is currently Vice President of the Tri-City Relays/Project of T.E.A.C.H., which stands for “teaming education with athletics to create hope.” Tri-City is a track-club that targets youth in under-served communities and includes tutoring programs and college tours to emphasize the necessity for high achievement in both athletics and academics. She has been a board member of the Delta Fine Arts Center. Prior to teaching, Simone practiced with Foley & Lardner in Washington, D.C. Prior to entering law school, she was a Sales and Applications Engineer for General Electric in Baltimore, Maryland. Simone is married to Mike Grace, an attorney and alumnus of the law school. They have two scholar-athletes who attend Mt Tabor High School. Her hobbies include reading, track and field, and Pilates.
