LLM

Enrollment

Midyear or part-time enrollment?

Our program is a full-time program, beginning in the fall semester (August) of the year you are admitted. We offer our LLM Legal Research and Writing for International Lawyers course only in the fall, so we are unable to admit LLM students in the spring semester. We are also unable to admit LLM students on a part-time basis.

Extended enrollment?

We do offer extended enrollment in some circumstances. Although the general residence requirement for an LLM degree is one academic year, we may permit a student to enroll for an additional semester or year. In some situations, LLM students have governmental, firm or corporate sponsors that fund their study of U.S. law for up to two years. In such cases, we have permitted LLM students to register for additional semesters. If you are interested in enrolling in our LLM program for more than one academic year, you should explain your circumstances in your application.
