Dr. Maya Angelou to Speak at Law School

Dr. Angelou's presentation at the law school is sponsored by the Law School Civil Liberties Union, a student organization, and by the law library in conjunction with National Banned Books Week. Dr. Angelou will speak about the impact of the First Amendment's protections of free speech and expression on her career as an author and civil rights activist.
The presentation is in the law school's large courtroom, room 1312, at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, September 16.
Dr. Maya Angelou is the author of twelve best-selling books, including the remarkable autobiographical works I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings and A Song Flung Up to Heaven. She has been widely hailed as one of the most important voices in contemporary American literature. She currently holds a lifetime appointment as Reynolds Professor of American Studies at Wake Forest University .
