Older Wiser Law Students (OWLS)
OWLS is a group for those of us who didn’t come here directly from undergrad studies. A self-identified group of “non-traditional law students,” we seek to network and interact, and work with the administration to ensure that the varying needs of all students are met, vis-à-vis career services, curricula, and various support networks.
We seek to contribute to the “active diversity” of the student body by offering our professional experiences as a resource for the student body as a whole, and to seed the professional networks of our classmates and colleagues from our own rich life experiences and existing networks of contacts.
We also endeavor to ensure that our families – often much more established than traditional students’ – are equipped to find the support and resources they need to face the challenges that our legal education imposes on them, and to prepare them for the challenges that launching a new career will present.
