Law school is about more than studying and taking tests - it's about preparing to be a professional. Wake law school offers many opportunities to enhance your law school experience and surround yourself with successful professionals who are eager to help you achieve that goal.

In my experience, Inn of Court is a fantastic way to keep your eye on the big picture. It is an opportunity to share food and conversation with some of North Carolina's most prestigious lawyers and judges who attend these events to mentor and get to know Wake law students. Enjoying a dinner with a judge who has been practicing for 50 years, who has been on the North Carolina Supreme Court, or who has presided over court sessions in every North Carolina county has given me perspective and inspiration.

Our "Conversation With" series is another way to help keep the focus on the future. These conversations with fascinating professionals allow you to delve into their careers and more importantly learn how they got there. To hear what it is like in the FBI, to campaign for president, or to run a successful non-profit from people who were once in your shoes, has shown me the potential great experiences just around the corner.

Wake Law's professional programs allow students to take a step outside of the law school and into the real world. To listen to, learn from, and interact with these successful legal professionals is a pleasant reminder of why I'm at Wake law school and of what I'm ultimately working to achieve.
