Professor Fine has served as a District Court Judge for the 21st Judicial District of North Carolina since 2001. Prior to taking the bench he was engaged in the general practice of law for eighteen years. In 1999 he was the recipient of the Harvey A. Lupton Award for distinguished service in the practice of criminal law. He has served on the board of directors at SCAN, TASC and The Legal Aid Society of Northwest North Carolina. Judge Fine is also a member of the Forsyth County Child Fatality Protection team. He earned his Bachelor’s degree from Franklin Marshall College, a Masters degree from Ohio University, and his Juris Doctor degree from Wake Forest University.
