Financial Aid
Law school is a significant investment, but it doesn’t have to strain your financial resources. We’re here to help ensure that law school is affordable and accessible. Wake Forest University School of Law automatically considers you for a variety of merit-based scholarships for our JD and LLM programs. There are also several other options to help you invest in your legal education, including federal and private student loans, VA education benefits, and on-campus employment opportunities. Additionally, Winston-Salem has a lower cost of living than the national average, which makes Wake Forest Law more affordable than many other law schools.

- Students receiving a School of Law institutional scholarship will have the total amount of the scholarship reduced for hours awarded outside of the law program
Financial aid is applied to the student account no earlier than 10 days prior to the start of each semester. Financial aid that exceeds tuition and fees is refunded to the student. The refund process begins during the week prior to classes starting. Students are encouraged to enroll in direct deposit to securely access their funds quicker. To enroll, log into WIN and select the Direct Deposit Authorization and Maintenance option.
Students enrolled at least half-time who have completed a FAFSA for the current year will be notified of summer loan eligibility by email beginning in April.
