Law students are assessed a Wellness Fee and have the option to waive the fee each semester. To access the waiver, log into Workday. Enter “Create Request” in the search bar. The Request Type is “Graduate/Professional Wellness Fee Waiver.” Click submit. The 2026-2027 Wellness Fee is $422 ($211 per semester). Students electing to waive this fee must actively request the waiver each semester.

Health Insurance

Health insurance is required by the University for all degree-seeking students and offered as an option for those needing coverage. Please visit the Student Health Insurance Program website for more information. Students who are adequately insured by their own coverage must waive prior to the fall semester each year. The 2026-2027 Health Insurance Premium is $3,210 ($1,605 per semester). The benefits period is August 1 through July 31.

SJD Students

Students who will be accompanied by dependent family members should budget an additional $7,000 for a spouse and $4,000 for each accompanying child.

Following the first year of required residency, SJD students will register for six (6) credit hours of Supervised Dissertation during each semester until the dissertation is completed and the degree is awarded. During this period, the student will be charged a discounted tuition rate. The 2026-2027 tuition rate for returning SJD students is $30,410, or $15,205 per semester.

Financial assistance for graduate education is quite limited. There are no law school scholarships or research or teaching assistantships available for SJD candidates.
