A Doctor of Juridical Science (SJD) degree allows students to gain deep expertise in specialized areas of law. Through this program, students hone their legal research and writing skills while contributing to the development of legal scholarship through original work.

Wake Forest Law’s SJD degree program is a highly selective, non-course directed program that is available to international LLM degree-holders who want to pursue academic or high-ranking careers in countries outside the US. Students work closely with Wake Forest Law faculty members who are experts in their fields and who offer guidance and mentorship throughout the duration of the program. With access to extensive resources and the advantages of a world-class university at their fingertips, Wake Forest Law SJD graduates leave the program equipped with the scholarly experience, specialized knowledge, and professional network they need to excel in their careers.
