Careers

Providing professional guidance to prepare students for the modern legal market.
The Office of Career & Professional Development partners with students to support the process of professional identity formation and offer resources for career planning and job searching. We empower students to reach their career aspirations by developing professional skills, understanding career opportunities, and identifying and pursuing their individual goals.
Some weeks on campus feel heavier than others. We see that.
A lot of you are still sorting through what you want, what you don’t want, or what even feels possible right now. That uncertainty is more common than it looks from the outside.
These thoughts come from career counselors and lawyers who have been through this stage themselves and who now work with students navigating it every day. You don’t need finished plans or perfect answers, you might just need a conversation.
If things feel unclear right now, that’s okay. Just know we’re here to help.
Cookies 🍪 Counseling 💬 Real conversations
At Cookies & Counseling students can stop by on select Wednesdays to connect with counselors like Dean Scott and Professor Lee for quick career questions.
No appointments. No pressure. Just honest answers and support.
Snow days look different for everyone ❄️
We’re happy to help however we can, no matter the weather. Questions, check-ins, or advising, we’re just a message away.
For students serious about a judicial clerkship, this was a conversation worth attending. ⚖️
2Ls who joined us gained detailed insight into the types of judicial clerkships available after law school, the application process and timelines, and practical ways to strengthen their candidacy. If you already know how valuable a clerkship can be, this session focused on how to pursue one strategically.
Thank you to Assistant Dean Scott for sharing guidance drawn from years of advising students through the clerkship process.

Today, Wake Forest Law students welcomed Taylor Gibbs, a Wake Forest Law Class of 2024 alum, back to campus to speak on behalf of the North Carolina Bar Foundation about the Open Door Fellowship.
The NCBF Open Door Fellowship is a competitive summer fellowship opportunity for first-year North Carolina law school students to gain valuable, hands-on legal experience while widening their professional networks to “open doors” and prepare them for the next steps in their legal careers.
🗓️ The application deadline is February 15
