Reciprocity Policy
The Office of Career & Professional Development offers a policy of “reciprocity” to students and graduates of other ABA-accredited law schools. All reciprocity requests must be made via email to Dean Francie Scott (scottfs@wfu.edu) by an official of the student/graduate’s career services office. A copy of the reciprocity policy of the requesting school should be included, as well as an email address for the student or graduate seeking reciprocity privileges.
Please note the following conditions of reciprocity:
- The Assistant Dean may deny further service to individuals who misuse the facilities or service
- Reciprocity is limited to third-year students and graduates seeking permanent employment in North Carolina
- Services are available to students and graduates of ABA-accredited law schools outside of North Carolina that provide reciprocal services to students and graduates of Wake Forest University School of Law
- Reciprocal services are available for a period of three months to each individual
- Reciprocal services are only available to one person at a time from the requesting school. If additional persons from the same school are seeking reciprocity, they must wait until the current grantee’s 3-month term has concluded.
- Reciprocal services include the following:
- Access to employment listings in Symplicity job bank
- Access to books and resources in the Office of Career & Professional Development
- Counseling appointments with OCPD staff (as time permits)
- Reciprocal services do not include:
- On- and off-campus interviews with prospective employers, including all job fairs and resume collections posted in Symplicity
- Resume and cover letter review
- The student or graduate must state in their application materials that the job listing was received from this office through a reciprocal agreement between the student/graduate’s school and the Wake Forest Law Office of Career & Professional Development. Failure to do so will result in the cancellation of reciprocity privileges.
- The Assistant Dean has the discretion to review each request independently and make a decision to grant or deny services based on the demands of Wake Forest Law students or alumni on the OCPD
