Wake Forest Law’s support of our students doesn’t end on the last day of exams your 3L year. We’re celebrating your commencement alongside you, supporting you as you prepare to take the bar exam, and welcoming you to our extensive alumni community.

Hooding & Commencement

The pinnacle celebration for graduates of the School of Law is the Law School Hooding & Commencement Ceremony each May. During the ceremony, each graduate is individually recognized and receives their academic hood, and all degrees are conferred. Law students primarily attend the Wake Forest Law ceremony, but are also invited to attend the University’s Commencement, which takes place after the Law School’s Hooding & Commencement Ceremony.

In advance of Hooding & Commencement, the Law School hosts an Awards Ceremony, which highlights all of the achievements of the graduating class.

Bar Examination Support

In addition to academic courses designed to prepare students for the bar exam, Wake Forest Law supplements bar study with skills-based workshops, mentorship opportunities, and social opportunities that offer reprieves from the intensity of studying for the bar after your 3L year. We offer an Alumni Bar Coach (ABC) Program, which pairs a Wake Forest Law alum with a recent graduate studying for the bar to provide mentorship, encouragement, and support. Wake Forest Law staff members also provide logistical and moral support on-site on bar exam days for recent graduates taking the bar exam in North Carolina.

Transitioning to Alumni Status
