Visiting Assistant Professor

Zoe Niesel joined the Wake Forest faculty as a visiting professor in August 2013 and currently teaches Civil Procedure I and Civil Procedure II. Her research interests include both Civil Procedure and Art & Cultural Property Law. Her current scholarship focuses on the legal mechanisms available to address cultural property destruction, including the loss of monuments, artifacts, and libraries, during political revolutions. Prior to joining the faculty, she served as a law clerk for the Honorable Thomas D. Schroeder in the United States District Court for the Middle District of North Carolina and was a guest lecturer in the Art & Cultural Property Law course at Wake Forest University School of Law. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in anthropology, with a focus on archaeology, from Southern Methodist University and her J.D. from Wake Forest University.
